IMPROVE FEED MILL THROUGHPUT
AZOMITE® Feed-Grit customers have been successful in significantly increasing the throughput (or reducing the required amperage) at every mill where some formula’s pellet at normal tph rates, but some formula’s pellet at much slower tph rates. Those slower rates may be caused by: DDGS addition. Defluorinated phosphate reduction or elimination. Fat reduction. Other alternate ingredients
CUSTOMER TESTS: Our Technical Services Representative will bring AZOMITE® Feed-Grit to your mill and assist you as you look for throughput improvement with your problem feeds. The testing does not slow feed production and can normally be accomplished in two to four hours. Throughput improvements have ranged from 5% to 50% in poultry and swine feeds with AZOMITE® Feed-Grit addition rates of 0.02% to 0.05%.
IMPROVE PELLET QUALITY
Customers who have the ability to post spray fat, but who are adding fat to the mixer to improve throughput, have found that they can remove the fat from the mixer, add AZOMITE® Feed-Grit for throughput, and spray the fat on the pellets.Implementing this procedure has significantly improved pellet quality.
REDUCE PER TON FEED COSTS
In several instances customer’s have actually been able to reduce their per ton formula cost. Two primary factors have normally been involved: Abrasive defluorinated phosphate removed and lower cost AZOMITE® Feed-Grit added. Some customers have assigned an energy value to the Feed-Grit in order to create a modest reduction in the
overall per ton cost of their feed formulas or to just pay for the modest cost of adding Feed-Grit. A major accredited research study completed in 2011 indicates that up to 9,744 kcal ME/kg (4420 kcal per lb.) of AZOMITE® Feed-Grit could be assigned without affecting feed conversion or weight gain.
In addition, due to pelleting throughput improvements from adding AZOMITE® Feed-Grit, our customers have saved costs by curtailing or eliminating overtime, reducing amperage, and eliminating the cost of purchasing feed from the mills of competing companies.
